A raw, gritty NY art happening is coming to Dumbo, Brooklyn on Friday, February 28, 2025, in a warehouse turned into gallery space. Emerging from the depths of the deranged underground art scene for a one night only performance is The Living Installation: Crazed Doll. Don't miss this live wild expressive experience, an artistic protest against the suffocating norms of modern society. This one-night-only performance brings back the fun, chaotic, unpredictable energy that New York's art scene was once known for.

Jadda Cat fearlessly and playfully transforms by simultaneously constructing herself into creatures from the subconscious, bringing them to life before destructing them into new forms within The Living Installation. She reflects the collective anxieties many feel in these turbulent times. Through a blend of paint splashes, bizarre DIY fashion, hand-crafted masks, silliness, and ferocious expressions, she transforms into wild, unrecognizable creatures in an ever-evolving performance. Each moment is a work of art in itself, an expression of individuality and liberation, pushing against the constraints of modern life, fighting for personal freedom, one paint splash at a time. The performance serendipitously falls on Jadda Cat’s birthday.

Accompanying the performance will be Cat’s partner Michael Alan Alien, world renowned fine artist, featured in People Magazine, The New York Times, and Succession HBO. See him create live drawings with white ink on black paper inspired by the performance as he drifts on and off the stage as a living art creature, loving his best friend and manifesting her essence into art on paper.. The tracks of the performance’s soundtrack are made by Michael Alan Alien, including new tracks featuring the art family with Mama Alien and Jadda Cat

This special performance will take place at City Maze: A Living Gallery,  an industrial raw space in Dumbo, Brooklyn, transformed into an interactive maze with artworks exhibited throughout. The gallery's innovative maze will add an extra dimension to the experience, creating a truly unique environment to explore and interact with the art.

To those who remember the magic of old New York – the late-night art happenings, the unpredictability, and the raw energy of spontaneous expression – The Living Installation is a reminder that the spirit of that vibrant city is still alive and thriving. This is New York’s art scene brought into the present with chaotic beauty and powerful creativity. Sometimes we forget that those creators are still living and working in New York City.

The space is alive with sound, color, and the energy of creative expression at this NYC art happening. Unplug, sketch, dance, or simply immerse yourself in the raw energy that radiates through space. Feel free to snap a few photos and videos for personal use only, but please refrain from photography with professional equipment, and please credit @thelivinginstallation in posts.

Tickets are available for both in-person attendance and online viewing. For those who can’t make it to Brooklyn, the performance will be streamed live for a global audience. Simply select the “online view” option to receive a link to watch the show or catch it at your convenience. Check your inbox at 7:30pm EST on the night of the show for an email with the link to watch.
